The Brasserie - Scarborough

The dishes were nicely presented and the flavors were good, but they were overshadowed by excessive salt. Unfortunately, all our food, including the duck, braised beef, children's chicken nuggets, and tea-steamed trout, was extremely dry like astronaut food. This made it challenging to eat and enjoy the meal.

We enjoyed a two-course meal as a pre-Christmas treat at this restaurant. We both started with a delicious scallop dish with a fantastic sauce. I had the steak and my partner had the turkey, both were expertly cooked and nicely presented. The service was fabulous and the dining room had a modern yet comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant was quiet on the midweek night we visited, but the staff were very polite and attentive. Based on our experience, we would definitely recommend this restaurant as nothing was too much trouble. Overall, we found it to be good value for the quality of food and overall experience.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and on the first evening, we dined at the Brasserie. I'm pleased that we didn't read the reviews beforehand because the restaurant exceeded our expectations. Despite being fully booked, the attentive service, impressive menu, and wine selection made our dining experience memorable. The food was delicious, and we were so satisfied after two courses that we didn't even order dessert. I would recommend trying the Brasserie and not letting early reviews deter you.

Good food from an interesting menu and good service but the Brasserie is rather soulless and prices are pretty steep. It may be the Covid-19 restrictions but it just didn't have any ambience.

It's a classic approach of this restaurant in the Raithwaite Estate Hotel to emphasize the complete freshness and careful preparation of the main ingredient of each dish, and we really can't argue with that. But sometimes, we do crave something to excite the taste buds and get them to beg for another bite. We missed that here. What you see is what you get. THe service was quite attentive and the wine list good.
