Staying for 3 nights. Lovely rooms, friendly people (owners and fellow customers). Fantastic breakfast and such a characterful place. Lots of dogs too for fussing. Well placed for North York Moors, Whitby, Filey, Robin hoods bay and other places. Would definitely recommend.
Enjoyed a lovely meal in the garden, highly recommended, looking forward to many return visits, thank you.
We enjoyed a lovely Sunday Lunch at this quaint pub in the beautiful Yorkshire dales. We were seated quickly at our table. There was a chilly wind but the heat lamps made all the difference so we were able to enjoy our wonderfully cooked Sunday Lunch while it was piping hot. We were a table of four and although the meal provided was ample we were asked if we would like more (I believe it would normally be a carvery where you help yourself but at present only outdoor drinks and food is available COVID 19 rules) A large plate of Beef and delicious roast potatoes, along with extra veg quickly appeared. The owner host was a hoot entertaining us at intervals in the meal with stories and jokes.A few diners were complaining about the cold but that's hardly something the staff could help with, after all it was April on the North Yorkshire Moors. They were lucky we did not have snow, Although the heat lamps did help (Maybe I already mentioned those sorry) Overall we had a very enjoyable experience with outdoor dining back on the menu after an arduous six month lockdown.
We travelled from Goathland to Egton to visit here after finding it on a vegetarian search of trip advisor. It was certainly a good find, the landlord, staff and indeed regulars were welcoming and friendly. We had a two course dinner here with a beer and it was good food, well presented and in a lovely bar area. We were offered the dining room but we prefer the bar generally as it was a dog friendly place and we got to see many pooches visiting in the time we were there. I would definitely go again if I were in the area.
