Elle Estelles Cafe - Scarborough

I am unable to provide a review of the food or drinks at this restaurant, as we were not given the opportunity to order. The man behind the counter rudely informed my partner that he was not taking any more orders at the moment because he was catching up on dishes. Disappointed by this attitude, we decided to take our business elsewhere. Robin Hood's Bay is a beautiful place, even on a rainy day in March, but unfortunately, the man's demeanor did not match the stunning surroundings. Best of luck with your business, we will be sure to walk past your door next time we visit.

Rude staff, took the order wrong and then proceed to shout at me infront of the entire cafe as it was my fault, and the way he spoke to the poor young lad that was working there.

The food at this restaurant was terrible. The bacon in the paninis was overcooked and tough. The woman working behind the counter seemed unhappy to have customers and her communication skills were poor. The restaurant was lacking ingredients, with a broken toaster and no baked beans for children. She was not apologetic, but rather grumpy about the situation, complaining within earshot of customers the whole time we were there. Despite being nearly empty, customers were turned away while the cafe next door was full. The toilets were in terrible condition, with a broken inside door and a non-locking outer door. The toilet area was very dirty. I suggest avoiding this cafe as it will only leave you disappointed.

We love this little place we went twice in a 4 day stay. The food is excellent value and really well presented as well as being delicious! Cakes next time!

Popped in here today for coffee as it looked cozy and welcoming. 1 table of 6 in, we were a two. So place almost empty. Ordered two cappuccinos. Waited, waited , waited. What became apparent was the guy behind the counter was talking incessantly the whole time we were there just nonsense, almost hyper. Still we waited. 4 hot chocolates came out then the guy realised he'd missed two off their order for the table of 6. Still we waited. Eventually the girl realised we were still waiting then admitted he had forgotten our order!! In the meantime the people on the table of 6 were still waiting for 2 of the cakes they ordered the same time as their drinks. Still the guy behind the counter was wittering on despite messing up the table of 6 and forgetting ours! Another two came in, got served in a reasonable time, then a table of 3 came in, placed their order....and waited so long they kept looking around to see where their drinks had got to. Our coffee was pleasant, once it arrived. Still the useless guy behind the counter was yapping on. I felt sorry for the girl working with him who was more efficient. I work in hospitality and know times can be stressful but this guy couldn't cope when the place was all but empty! I suggest he stopped wittering non stop and concentrated on his paying customers! He might want to get a shave and haircut too as long straggly hair and scruffy beard aren't a good look when serving food! Not our best experience!
