The owner, Maria, suggested following her on Instagram for updates on potentially taking Goldbelly orders in the future. Maria always prepared her food with care, using quality ingredients and never cutting corners. We will miss you and wish you the best in your future endeavors!
I recently returned to this restaurant for the first time since the onset of Covid-19, and they have implemented some changes. They now use a computer system for ordering and do not offer table service, which I appreciate. Additionally, they now accept credit cards and Apple Pay. I highly recommend trying the mie tek-tek, which is garlic fried noodles with chicken and shrimp. It is a delicious street food dish. The nasi Padang, which offers a variety of items, is also very good. The ice teler, a coconut pineapple mango drink, is sweet and delicious. Although the service is a bit slow and the prices are on the higher side, I still believe this restaurant is a good choice for anyone in the area. If you enjoy Thai food, you will likely enjoy Indonesian cuisine as well. I am not aware of any other Indonesian restaurants in the vicinity.
I would have given Indo Cafe 5 stars if it were not for the recent price increase. I really enjoy the food at this restaurant, especially the Lotong Sayur, which is one of the few gluten-free options available. The presentation of the dishes may not be the most appealing, but the flavors are fantastic. I particularly love the tender rice cakes, which are hard to find elsewhere. Whenever I return to South East Asia, I always make sure to have some Lotong, as it is one of my favorite dishes. The curry is also incredibly flavorful without being too heavy. It's more like a soup, and I savor every last drop. Unfortunately, I had to get The Lotong Sayur to go, as the restaurant no longer has a dine-in area due to the pandemic. The price used to be $15.50, but now it's $25, which I find quite shocking. I understand that other restaurants have raised their prices slightly, but a $10 increase seems excessive. While I would be willing to pay this amount at a high-end restaurant, Indo Cafe is not in that category. As much as I love the food, I don't think I can justify spending $25 on the Lotong Sayur again. It's disappointing to have to say goodbye to such a delicious dish. I will miss it, but I won't be returning to purchase it at this price.
Take out dinner from this restaurant was a great experience. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I would definitely recommend this place for a convenient and tasty meal.
So glad Indo Cafe has re-opened! I know the owner has gone through some tough times recently and am delighted she has been able to re-open. Many restaurants have had to increase their prices because of the pandemic so personally, I have no issue with that. In these difficult times, we have to support each other. In any case, the food is absolutely delicious and I'm so glad I can get my weekly fix of mi tek tek again!
