Julian's Tequila Mezcal Lounge

Checked out this place because it kept popping up on my insta... What a disappointment. Not much of a menu. Ordered the 3 tacos for $18 which were meh... My drink was warm. Waiter stated it was because they had just put the redbull in the fridge. GWAT?

Well decorated, and a great concept. Only thing holding me from a 5 star review is in the name: Tequila Mezcal Lounge . Based on the name, I built a blind expectation of connoisseurs of tequila and mezcal, with a collection of brands (preferably small distilleries). Definitely would be unique in the area to have this kind of T M lounge, and would help educate the public on what good and great tequila and mezcal really taste like!

I came here this past Saturday (9/11) with some friends, but they were closed! I had tried to call the day of and even the day before to make a reservation, but no one answered both times. I was really bummed out since my friends really wanted to try this place. The least they could've done was update their website to let people know they were closed.

Had reservations for 8pm on September 10 for 12 people and when we got there everything was closed. Prior to going I had attempted to call multiple times and the phones were busy and no one answered. I never received a call or message. Such a disappointment. I had friends travel over 3 hours to come to this. Horrible

Wow, I was not expecting tacos in Santa Monica to be very good but ... this place absolutely blew my mind! I definitely recommend the Jalapeño taco. The building is over 100 years old and started as a church before housing a small theater. This place has so much character.
