Midtown Bistro - Santa Fe

We were surprised to find out that they were offering a New Year's Eve dinner. It was probably our mistake for not knowing beforehand. Our wait time was short and we had a nice chat with the bartender while waiting. She is a wonderful person. Our only criticism is that both the mushroom soup and the risotto needed more salt. The tres leches cake was a standout dessert. The Elch-Tenderoin was good as well. We definitely plan on returning.

In all fairness, the New Year's Eve fixed menu was definitely revitalized, but the drinks like the Chopin vodka rocks or Chopin martinis were not very strong. The baby arugula salad with goat cheese and apple was delicious. The special Caesar salad lacked flavor. The elk dish was good, but not cooked medium rare as requested, and the ribeye steak was quite tough. The chocolate cake was beautifully presented. Overall, we have had better experiences at this restaurant. The host is always friendly and personable.
