Izanami - Santa Fe

An amazing experience! It is pricey but a once in a lifetime experience that shouldn’t be missed!

The food was very delicious, and the portions were generous. The wait staff were very accommodating and nice. We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water as we were seated. We said sparkling water. When it arrived in a carafe, we asked where it came from. It was tap water that had been carbonated by a machine they have. Luckily they had some very nice bottled sparkling water from Mexico that we ordered instead. The big negative is the lack of parking. We had to park near the main entrance and climb the hill to the restaurant in the rain. The shuttle was nowhere to be seen, and there was no cell signal to allow us to call and ask for a ride. For people who are in their 70’s and live at sea level this was not a good way to start our evening.

We had an amazing dining experience at Izanami in Santa Fe. After a relaxing soak at 10 Thousand Waves, we enjoyed a delicious lunch with a spectacular view of the mountains and valley from our booth seating. The host was able to accommodate our request to switch from the outdoor patio due to rain. The team, especially Arianna, made us feel extra special and the food was delicious. We tried the ahi tacos, very green salad, and steak bento, all made with fresh ingredients and flavorful Unami flavors. The meat was cooked perfectly rare, showcasing its quality. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience in Santa Fe.

Izanami consistently delivers a wonderful dining experience with exceptional food, attentive servers, and a peaceful atmosphere. I savored ahi tuna tacos, black sesame noodles, and tender grilled miso bass with a light, flavorful taste. The roasted shishito peppers and fatty tuna sashimi were also delightful. To top it off, we enjoyed a bottle of ice-cold Nigori JOTO unfiltered sake. Gabriel, our knowledgeable server, provided excellent recommendations and took great care of us throughout the meal.

We had a wonderful time at Izanami celebrating the birthdays of our 14-year-old twin grandchildren with a party of six. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded our expectations.
