Royal Taj Indian Cuisine - Santa Cruz

We ordered dal makhani, shahi paneer, and lamb curry. Everything was too sweet, and the dal tasted like it had been prepared ahead of time and not freshly cooked.

This restaurant has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The person at the counter, who appears to be Nepalese or from Nepal, is rude and unhelpful. They blame customers and delivery drivers for their own mistakes and the packaging of the food is very poor. They often pack multiple boxes into a single plastic bag, which can lead to spilling food on the street or in the car. When asked to change their packaging style, they dismiss it by saying everyone else does it that way. It seems like this person may just be an employee, but where is the owner? They don't even respond to customer reviews.

I know of a restaurant that has been owned for 28 years. I dined there today and the service was very poor, the food was not good at all. The spinach was not fresh, the naan bread was undercooked, and the lentils were unappetizing. I would only give this restaurant one star, I recommend going to Taco Bell instead of eating here.

Very good eating I loved the lamb biryani and her polao is the best

Authentic flavors, warm service, and wholesome food. Always have more than enough to take home for a couple more meals!
