Back Nine Grill - Santa Cruz

Enjoyed cocktails at the bar before dinner. Food was good and would come back. We all had steak dinners. One of our party sent back his dish for not being right. This was dealt with and I appreciated the promptness in turning another plate around.

Music was played so sound we could not hear ourselves speak. Had to shout across the table.

Food was good but not extra ordinary for the price. There was an unwanted visitor around our food, a fly! :

The food and service were both very good. The atmosphere is that of a sports bar, which is what it primarily is. We enjoyed it when we went there for lunch on a Sunday.

Best steak and St Louis ribs in Santa Cruz! Honestly I didn’t expect such adventurous flavors from a golf club restaurant. Since those usually offer rather conservative fare. But our dinners were outstanding and portions generous. Wait staff was attentive albeit not overly warm. We went at 5 pm Sunday and place was almost empty, which was fine for us, but by 6 pm it was filling up. We will definitely be back —a new local favorite for us
