The cake part has a soft texture like the kind you get when using a boxed cake mix, but it is definitely a step up from that. I would describe it as a Marie Callender's home kitchen kind of feel. I usually do like this type of cake but overall, it wasn't impressive and not too flavorful either. The good thing about the cakes though is that they look really cute. My sister's cake was more of a custom cake with the decorations designated by her husband. They drew a brief draft of what it would look like, edible butterflies and all. For my cake, they requested yellow and orange icing as those are my favorite, bright colors! The cream puffs were huge and the amount of cream inside was overwhelming as it tasted like this thick paste. Overall, still a very unique place.
Really disappointed that you can't mix flavors. I wanted to do their cookies and cream and flavor of the month, but they will only sell them with half original chocolate chip. I decided to just get the cookies and cream and to add more disappointment, I got half cookies and cream and half original. I KNOW they sell JUST cookies and cream because thats all I get. The original is too gooey and chocolatey for my taste. Although I love the cookies and cream, I'm stuck with two expensive cookies that I hate.
Stopped by the first time, and I am FURIOUS! Furious that I live so close to Choc Cookies because I have absolutely no self-control against whatever wizardry is going on within those walls. These cookies are absolute perfection. Cookies are served warm, and the service is top-notch.Stop wasting your time at Crumble (those cookies are abysmal...fight me) and get in on Santa Clara 's best secret!
I've been eyeing this place for a while and finally tried it out with my friend recently. The store is located behind the gas station- easy to miss from the big road. Really small store, fits like 2 people and it's basically a counter. You need to order 4 cookies at once and you can't mix and match it yourself. You can do 2 of each flavor but you can't do like 2x1x1, etc. This was a negative for me because my friend and I just wanted to share a cookie since they're huge! We ended up getting a mix of the chocolate chip and churro cookies. The boxes are all prepacked and are handed to you immediately when you order. The cookies are warm and huge! I prefer softer cookies but this was a bit tooo undercooked for me and falls apart immediately. I would've appreciated the cookie to be a bit more baked. The chocolate chip was not overwhelming sweet for me but would probably get too much if I ate more than half the cookie. The churro was not as sweet which was a nice change. The cookies are just a bit too gooey for my liking and I wish they had more flavors and the flexibility to order a single cookie. I would probably come back if I'm craving cookies and in the area but wouldn't go out of my way!
Would have never known Choc Cookies existed if a friend's coworker hadn't told her about it. Very hidden in an unassuming small plaza. Orders of 4 cookies and we got a mix of the chocolate chip and special of the month cookies and creme. $17 for a box of 4 warm cookies.Tried the chocolate chip cookie first, and it had a taste I did not particularly like, possibly the butter or oil they use for it? The cookies and creme was absolutely delightful though, love the crunchy but chewy texture.Would definitely be back for their special cookies of the month.
