This restaurant has a new owner and I would recommend avoiding it. They are very short staff-Wit staff literally guided - that is not a nice atmosphere. They're running out of several big ducks. Slow service and stone cold food. But what's more important is that I got food... poisoning from the shrimps. I am 100% confident that it was their shrimps. My husband ate exactly what I did all day except the cooked shrimps. The doctor agreed to my symptoms of toxins in shrimps. IV drip after severe illness. Week of antibiotics after. We went back to talk to the owner to let them know that maybe their supplier is not good or how they store them. She's not talking to us. She let a young male waiter do her job. Don't eat here. Your life can depend on it!
NIce atmosphere on 2nd level, open air restaurant; the menu must change based on whats fresh because it was a chalkboard (which I love); we had excellent service by Brian and he was also very helpful with our limited speaking of Spanish. He recommended great...wine choices and menu picks. Totally enjoyed our food and thought it was fairly priced. My only complaint was it was extremely hot that evening and I wished there had been fans.
This is by far the best restaurant in Melaque San Patricio. The food was exceptional. From appetizers (which could serve as a main dish). I shared a goat cheese, spinach and beet salad with a friend. My husband ordered Clams Rockerfeller (it could have been...a main course). The main dishes were PERFECT. The meat was cooked to perfection and my shrimp curry was delicately seasoned with just the right spices. Even though we should have skipped dessert, we decided that everything was so perfect, that we just had to try their house specialty Goat Cheese cake with berry topping, my husband had the chocolate cake and our guest the tiramisu!!!! Once again perfect. My husband refuses to go anywhere else after this. The ambiance is relaxed and fun, the staff courteous and knowledgeable. Strongly recommend them to anyone visiting Melaque. We went to this restaurant with high expectations. The appetizers of bone marrow that were excellent. The shells Rockefeller were cold and the meat was not separated from the shell. From there everything went downhill. My wife ordered restraints that arrived cold, dry and tasteless. She wanted to ask Parmigiano cheese, olive oil, chilli and pesto to make it enjoyable. I order the Korean reserve ribs that arrived cold dry and tasteless and seemed to have been boiled to death a week ago. I asked for additional BBQ sauce and was told it was not available. When our bill arrived, we were taken home for every additional spice as well as the bags we had asked to take and was very expensive. When we asked why and to speak to the owner, the waitress argued and said we were rude. Eat at your own risk.
