Los Garcia's - San Jose

We've been enjoying delicious Mexican food both to-go and in the restaurant for quite some time, as we live nearby. The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is wonderful—it's truly a hidden gem!

This place was great. Food was super fresh and tasty. They also had a good size bar. Yelp needs to have my review 85 chapters long.

In my humble opinion, I absolutely love Mexican food! Our friends recommended Los Garcias for dinner, and it was my first time visiting—definitely not my last! You could tell this place is popular, as it was bustling with people, but luckily we found a few available tables. The guys ordered Cadillac Margaritas, of course! Our friendly waitress was quick to take our order. We chose combo platters and a lengua platter, along with guacamole and chips, plus the complimentary chips that are served. Our food arrived hot and delicious! The beans were wonderfully creamy, and I have no complaints! I can’t wait to return! The service was genuinely friendly and courteous, and you can tell it’s a family-run restaurant. Make sure to check out Los Garcias!

I've visited Los Garcias a few times and felt it was time to share my experience. It has been around for decades, and it never disappoints! I love supporting these mom-and-pop shops, and on every visit, I get to experience how much love this family puts into this restaurant. I usually order my norm, which is a carne asada plate with rice and beans. The cut of meat they use is top-notch and cooked to perfection. As many of you know, carne asada can easily be the best or the worst protein on your plate. For the record, LGR's carne asada has hit hard on every visit! It is tasty, tender, juicy, and just downright good! Their rice and beans here are always on point and pair excellently. Service is always friendly, and everything is priced just right. It can get a little busy during the lunch rush, but it comes with the territory when you serve great food. LGR will continue to be my carne asada spot of choice in the bay!

The three salsas that accompanied the chips were exceptional; my favorite was the creamy green salsa, but honestly, they were all delicious! The coffee was also fantastic. I ordered the chorizo con papas burrito, which was filled with beans, potatoes, and chorizo. My dad had a mulita, and my mom chose the plate version of the chorizo con papas. The homemade corn tortillas truly elevated the dishes—there’s just something special about them that enhances any meal, no matter how tasty it already is! I can't wait to return whenever I'm in the area. The parking is located at the back of the restaurant next to a motel, and it can be a bit limited, but that’s a minor detail. I was so excited about the food that I forgot to take a picture!
