Aqui Blossom Valley - San Jose

We've been coming to Aqui for at least 10 years now. I'm still not over the loss of the pesto cilantro dressing for the grilled salmon salad. However, I recently tried the beef Supreme bowl and would definitely order it again. The beef was tender, though I might skip the cotija cheese next time since it was a bit overpowering. The chips were good, but the guacamole seemed smaller than I remembered from previous visits. And as for the strong margaritas? They never disappoint!

We sat at the bar and encountered some interesting people. One of us ordered an Old Fashioned, and the bartender began by mashing cherries with sugar before adding bitters and a generous amount of ice—clearly, she doesn't make them often. Overall, we won't be returning! As for vegetarian options, there are plenty of salads made with fresh ingredients. The guacamole was fresh and tasty, though it's not your traditional style. Parking was ample, even during peak times.

The cashier was friendly, although a bit too laid-back and somewhat slow. The food was always appealing and beautifully presented. The restaurant was busy and somewhat noisy, but it seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves.

Food used to be better at Aqui, now it’s very mediocre. The tables outside were literally wobbly and askew and for people who are imbibing industrial cocktails… no bueno.

I’ve been to Aqui’s three times and have enjoyed it all three times. The personnel there are so friendly. You order your food at the front counter before you sit down. You receive a buzzer and when it’s ready your buzzer goes off and you pick up your order. Very fast and efficient.I had the Free Range Chicken Enchiladas with ancho Chile sauce and also consisted of Yukon potatoes and Monterey Jack cheese. It was served with rice and chayote-zucchini, with iced tea.My sister had the Chicken and Monterey Jack cheese Quesadilla’s. We also had the Avocado Dip with tortilla clips.Of course Aqiu’s wouldn’t be complete without one of their famous Swirl’s. We had the Aqui Sangria Margarita Swirl, Industrial strength. They were awesome. It’s just something that you must try.
