Poke Go - San Diego

I ordered an extra-large bowl through Uber, and it was quite a hefty portion that was very satisfying. However, aside from the spicy tuna, everything else was pretty bland, including the sauce. The spicy tuna, on the other hand, was incredible—definitely the best and spiciest I've ever had. I just wish the rest of the meal had the same level of flavor. It would definitely benefit from some ponzu sauce, or you could make a simple mix with vinegar and soy sauce to add more taste.

The food here is consistently fresh, and there is a wide variety of options to choose from.

First of all, I was alarmed by the fact that all the proteins were hidden away from view, which is a major red flag; I’ve never encountered that before. Not being able to see what I was ordering—its quality, color, or sauces—doesn’t contribute to a good fast-casual experience. I should have walked out at that point since it felt like they were hiding something. To make matters worse, the owners were holding a meeting right in the middle of the restaurant, with supply boxes strewn everywhere—completely disregarding the customer experience. There was no music, no ambiance, and it felt like no effort was being made. The owner rushed to handle my order, hastily prepared my bowl in just 20 seconds, and tossed it into a bag so he could return to his meeting, apparently unwilling to hire staff. When I finally got home and opened the $16 bowl, I was shocked to find tiny portions of food. But that was the least of my worries, as the first bite was inedible—I had to spit it out. The fish was subpar—fishy and old tasting, without any sauce or toppings—and everything was dumped into the bowl haphazardly. To top it off, the bowl was 90% rice. This establishment is poorly run and deserves to be shut down. My experience in Rancho Bernardo was nothing short of a complete disappointment, and I want my money back.

They didn't add half of the toppings, fish quality was low, and it was on the pricier end $40 for 2). I'd recommend looking elsewhere...

We just picked up one X-large bowl with 4 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of Tako. It was terrible that there were 7 small dice salmon pieces and 4 pretty small tiny thin octopus slices. The owner said it was supposed to be. : Don’t recommend this place. Wasted money.
