This place offers some of the best beer views in San Diego. If you're a fan of West Coast-style IPAs, The Celestial is a must-visit! The burger we ordered was incredible! However, the shrimp cocktail was so beautifully presented that it was surprising it had any fishy taste—I usually love shrimp cocktail, so I’m not sure what went wrong there. On a positive note, I did appreciate the fresh horseradish in the cocktail sauce. Overall, it’s the stunning views and excellent brews that will keep me coming back.
I visited this restaurant on February 12, 2022, with my family, and we had a fantastic experience! We started with the sea salt pretzel as an appetizer, which was delicious, and the cheese dip that accompanied it was also tasty. My mom and I shared the large grilled chicken club, and it was incredible! The chipotle sauce paired perfectly with it. My family enjoyed their meals as well! Overall, I really loved this place and will definitely be returning!
I highly recommend the onion rings; they were the best dish on the menu. My friend, however, didn't enjoy the tuna at all; it was overcooked and lacked freshness, to the point that he couldn't finish it. I had the fish and chips, which were fresh and delicious. I wouldn't recommend the kimchi coleslaw, as it was just slightly kimchi-flavored. My partner had the burger, which was also only mediocre. Overall, I would return just for some beer and their fried food.
The food was good, but the menu fell short. The blackened mahi with tempura-fried cauliflower was excellent, and the ambiance and views during the day are fantastic. However, the menu didn't impress me; it leaned more towards pub-style offerings rather than seafood dishes. I guess that's why Brigantine is next door for those seeking seafood options.
