The service was excellent!I had the Butter chicken, vegetable samosa, butter naan and rice. Everything was well made and hot. I was served enough to be full and took home left overs. If you're looking for a great dine-in experience and authentic Indian food, definitely give this place a try.
Me and my boyfriend highly recommend this place! We both quite like Indian food and this place has a very authentic menu.We started the experience having a Daal Soup which is very flavorful and has a nice taste. We ordered a sweet Naan stuffed with mozzarella, Cashew, Raisins and shredded coconut and then baked into the clay oven. VERY DELICIOUS! The main dishes were HIMALAYAN YAK YETI SPECIAL BIRYANI A rice dish with a lot of different kinds of meat and VEGETABLE VINDALOO a combination between vegetables and meat. They both are a little bit spicy but not too much, very tolerable for those who dislike spicy/hot dishes like me.We ended up trying the GULAB JAMUN a Juicy and sweet milk balls dessert, very very sweet but different. We both highly recommend this place for everyone that wants to try an India experience.PLUS: I loved the Indian songs in the background. The place is located in La Mesa, North East of San Diego.
Got delivery with Doordash from this place, things were packed and delivered pretty well. That was about the only good thing. The chicken tikka masala was the worst I’ve ever had, I’ve honestly had better frozen tikka masala. I posted the picture of it and as you can see it came jammed packed with like a whole cup of oil, not exaggerating at all. As soon as I started to crack the container open it immediately spilled oil all over my countertop. It was honesty a bit comical just how much oil there was. To top it all off the chicken was dry/overcooked. The sauce that was left over, after scooping out spoonfuls of oil, was actually decent but it was not spicy at all like I requested.Other than that, the saag paneer was 6.5/10 and nothing wrong with it. The garlic butter parsley naan was kinda bland.Overall very disappointing, I’ve never had this oil issue to this degree at the many other and much better Himalayan restaurants around San Diego. I gave this place a try because of the reviews. I don’t think I’ll ever come back. Super disappointing.
Chicken vindaloo very good. Loved the soft potatoes and herbs . Chicken curry excellent! Light on spice; tender; perfect blend of herbs with veggies . Daal soup lentil texture-okay. Bland in taste; Naan bread helped . Basmati rice perfectly cooked, wanted extra bowl? and cold coconut cream... custard? not a fan of anything coconut .1st time patron. Lovely setting. Warm and welcoming greeting. Intimate place to dine for 2 or bring family. Somewhat of a hideaway in a strip mall located in the Rolando/San Diego area. I look forward to going back again for lunch special $15 for 2 meat entrees with soup, rice, and naan bread or a full dinner experience?Parking: Limited space for restaurant guests. In a stripmall, so must share room with other patrons
Some the best food you are going to have in San Diego. I felt like I was invited into their home kitchen. Everything was made from scratch. Perfect temperature and the spice level was out of this world. Highly recommended. We've been there like 4 times now.Food: 5/5
