We stood in line waiting for our online order and Doordash rep walked in and they gave her order right away and when I commented, she yelled “wait your turn! I’m so sick of these people!” She also claimed our order wasn’t ready without checking and it was sitting there the whole time. The gentleman in front of us had to return since they screwed up his order. HORRIBLE service!!
My friend and I decided to go up to the old Clariemont mall today, have lunch and possible to a little shopping. We were so surprised to see many of the stores and small restaurants' closed. The one we chose this this old Greek cafe that has Been here for 30 years. I actually had gone there many times and always enjoyed the food. Today,we were Greeted by the owner Edna Who was superfriendly and while we waited for our food and afterwards. I told her that I had put on an art and music show there in the early 70's An ate at her small Cafe frequently. Unfortunately her husband had passed, covid made things worse plus the fact that many businesses had left. Even Starbucks opened up I. Vons. Our food arrived separately about 15 minutes. I was happy as my friends chicken wrap arrived first and was not hot. She said she wished it had been grilled. I had ordered the impossible Burger with avocado, tomato an lettuce.very thin slice of avocado and same with the tomato. It did have a nicely cooked french Fries which I shared. I am giving 5 stars as it's one of the few places that has been around for many years that actually have survived so far. It's a rough business and kudos to all that hang on. It was a perfect day to sit outside. As far as any shopping..not for us. But, we did enjoy oneanother's company.
We have been here multiple times. This place is in the same area where we do some of our grocery shopping so we come here for lunch. The food is consistent, we normally get the special: gyro with a Greek salad or with fries. Portions are generous and 9/10 times the meat is juicy and fresh. On one occasion, we came here right before closing time and so the food didn't feel as fresh. This is the reason I give this place 4 starts instead of 5. Service is always good, the owner is normally there to greet you and oversee operations. Ambiance is fine too.
I have eaten at several Greek restaurants and I'm truly surprised this place is still in business. I cannot imagine being a repeat customer. I ordered the pastitsio was quite disappointed. It was very bland and flavorless. It came with a side of rice that smelled very strange with an odd aroma. The tzatziki sauce was not the best either and was much too runny and watery. Short story Go somewhere else for lunch. This place is not worth your money or your time.
What a great find!A huge selection of beers on tap to pair with both Greek classics and American fare. The food was excellent and served piping hot. This place obviously take great pride making it's customers happy!
