Great for quick, cheap, delicious indian staples. Choose between items to make a combo plate or have something made a la carte of their menu.Food: 5/5
The food is good, not the best ever but seems to be like a home cook kinda taste. Samosas are expensive and priced too high. Reason for 3 stars is we always get enough rice but not enough curry. We always have extra rice. They need to put more food on the plates for $10+. A chipotle bowl is double the size of their plates.
They should probably add the word Mess next to their name. I decided to try this place for lunch and was not particularly interested in their lunch combo. Wanted to order something from the menu but the punjabi guy straight up refused to serve me anything from menu. Moreover he said eat what is available and moved on to the next customer. I 've never had such pathetic and unwelcoming experience at a restaurant.
Came here for dinner with my wife on a Tuesday. It had a short line for ordering. We ordered their combo, which came with a choice for curry, naan, rice, and,I assume, dal. The staff was welcoming and polite. They brought out our tray and helped us get plastic forks and spoons. The food had good spice level, which we asked for medium. Although my wife said her spice wasn't there. I ordered the lamb curry, which the flavor was good. Good, but not the best I had. Same for my wife's butter chicken curry. The naan was not as thick, but was enough for the meal. The place is small and maintained. This was our first Indian restaurant for San Diego, so it would be unfair to compare with other Indian restaurants at this time and decide if it is a place we'd come back to.
