Brigantine Seafood Oyster - San Diego

Had some issues getting waited on. Was not crowded so not sure why. Someone in our party had to send her wagyu burger back twice because it was like a hockey puck both times. Luckily they took it off the bill and gave us dessert. Shrimp and grits were ok. Grits were chunky and dry. All veggies served were not cooked enough was just like eating them raw. Steak and lobster were very good. Crème brûlée was the best ever! Normally love this place thinking some of the employees were not into it that night. Will return. Beautiful place.

Erica is a fantastic server. Ask for her if you can and tip her very well because she is worth it! Food is fantastic as well!

I ordered the clams, and they were the worst I've ever had. They were inadequately rinsed, with sand and broken shell pieces in every one. The only redeeming aspect of the meal was the bread pudding dessert—thank goodness for that!

We always start with the calamari because my 17-year-old enjoys it so much. However, this time it didn’t taste the way it usually does. The texture was off, and there was hardly any breading. They took the first serving back and brought out a fresh dish, but it was still the same—such a disappointment. Besides the texture issue, the portion was about half of what we normally receive. The rest of our four meals were okay, but my fish taco plate also fell short. Typically, the tacos are generously topped with cheese, but this time there was only a sparse amount under the fish. To make matters worse, they informed me they were out of their excellent sriracha. With prices so high these days, it’s disheartening when you've been a loyal patron for so long and have certain expectations. I will definitely return to the Brig with my family, but it might be a while before I do.

The prices were quite steep, especially for a lunch entree. While the food quality and portion size were satisfactory, my lettuce wedge was drenched in Thousand Island dressing—enough to dress at least four salads! Will we come back? Likely not.
