Cafe Negro - SAN ANTONIO TLAYACAPAN

The place is facing the highway. Each breakfast plate costs from ten to thirteen dollars. Coffee is terrible, worse than on a plane. If you have coffee and juice, the price of breakfast reaches eighteen dollars. The food was best moderate. We had to wait more than an hour. And twenty minutes, without result, for a check. We calculated what we spent, left the money and left. We live in the area. There are many wonderful places for breakfast: La Huerta, Scandinavia Cafe, Tacos de Lago and much more. They would never pay more than 8-10US with all the extras. Skip it.

The service and the food here is as good as he will. The owner speaks perfectly English y Español por supuesto. Very clean, fast and hot served. I have breakfast here several times and it's always good

This is mainly a Coffee Breakfast Specialty Restaurant. Opens at 8:30 and closes at 2:00. Three seating areas, patio, main seating area, a very nice area in the private back area. Great coffee and one of the best places to eat breakfast in Lakeside! Bilingual staff, great service! Pastries also available. There are many elements on the menu just as well prepared. This is a very well managed, clean and successful restaurant, very friendly and fast service! Very recommended .

Since we moved here we've heard a lot of hype about great breakfasts here. But, when we went last week, we found the service to be slow, the food average, and prices above average. There are a TON of great places in this town. My recommendation is to keep looking.

We went to Cafe Negro at least seven times during our month stay in the Ajijic/Lake Chapala area. It was recommended by one of the folks that we met who lived in the area. Their menu is separated by day and all of the items that we tried (about 30% of the menu) were absolutely wonderful. For example the eggs benedict was prepared just right as compared to the style in the SF Bay area/Sac and we were very surprised with their pie...simply devine. I have even started a late breakfast with their classic mile high apple pie with their coffee and rich cream. BTW they roast their own beans. If you are in the area then you should try this place. Highly recommended. Tom helped us out very well and spoke English like he is from the State. His family owns the restaurant and his mom is a wonderful cook with a new menu coming out in October 2017.
