Pitter-keller - Salzburg

It was thrilled to try the lunch specialties here after the arrival with the train. at 1:30 a.m. they came to lunch at 2. we were turned away, even after we had assured the hostess we did not want. very disappointed.

With hindsight we should have gone with the numbers as our Trip Advisor research would have taken us further from our hotel. Instead we opted for a decently rated closer place. The Pitterkeller is part of the Imlauer chain and is in the lower ground...area. The decor is traditional and the menu quite good. The service was quite slow after we said we needed more time to decide. Our vegetarian was struggling a bit as she didn’t feel like fish or salad. The meals were very large and full of promise however the extremely generous use of salt really spoiled the pork medallions, lentil stew and pork knuckle. We were in Salzburg/salt fortress so I guess we couldn’t complain! The potato and side salads were fine as was the Austrian style fried chicken and the spatlese noodles.

Really nice small restaurant with delicious food perfect beer and extremely friendly stuff. Andrew that was serving during my stay is a really nice person, attentive, polite and always helps you with meal selection. If I can put more than 5 in the stuff field I will definitely put 6/5As I said at the beginning - Pitterkeller is a must visit.

This is really the Crowne Plaza bar. It is great with excellent service and a good atmosphere. Food is of a high standard and promptly served. Well worth a visit

Quickly seated by very friendly and efficient lady/supervisor. Very good food and good value for the quality. Attentive staff. Go to the Sky bar for sense of occasion and the view but quite a bit more expensive. Recommended.
