Thistle Thyme - Salt Lake City

I ordered a chicken BLT, which took at least 20 minutes to arrive. When it finally came, it was evident that the plate had been sitting out for a while; the veggies had clumped together. The bun was soggy, and the chicken had a texture reminiscent of a rubber ball! After taking just two bites, I decided to send it back. Next, I ordered a salad with three shrimp (an extra $10), which took another 15-20 minutes to arrive. Honestly, it was only mediocre at best. I was still hungry and didn’t even finish it. I almost never send food back! I strongly advise you to avoid this restaurant and either find a place outside or consider ordering in.

I had lunch with friends visiting from out of town, and I was completely embarrassed by the experience. This was the worst meal I've ever had. The kitchen was clearly overwhelmed, and they should have let us know so we could have chosen a different place to eat. I wish I had realized this was hotel food—it reflects poorly on Marriott. I really regret not taking pictures; it was truly indescribable.

We had breakfast at the buffet, and for $23 per person, we expected something decent. Unfortunately, it was much worse than a Super 8 buffet and honestly, a bit off-putting. The eggs were stone cold, cooked in a way that left them with an unappealing texture. The pork sausage was so dry it resembled a Cheeto from a long-forgotten apocalypse. The potatoes were also cold and overly salted. You'd find better flavor by breathing in ocean waves or licking the railing of a cruise ship. The muffins appeared moist, but that was just an illusion; as soon as we touched them, they crumbled into a pile of dry crumbs. Was the food taken from some ancient time capsule? Either way, much like that time capsule, we won’t be back for another hundred years!
