Kids had strawberry milkshakes that they drank in seconds. Eggs, crepes and everything else we tried was very good. My kid couldn't stop raving about the grilled cheese. The decor was 1950s inspired - waiting for Fonzie to walk in! - but the bar area is modern so there is a nice vibe to the restaurant. Would like to try it for lunch as the menu looks good.If you're staying at one of the nearby hotels give it a try. It's way better than other places we tried.
Nothing ordinary at Flash! Starting with the hunter chicken topped with a sauce of caramelized onions and mushrooms! 1950s ambiance with a modern twist. Bistro menu with a touch of refinement that sets it apart from the competition. Chef Jonathan meets the challenge of quality and originality! Excellent value for the money.
Beau décor dans une ambiance rétro au goût du jour. Service sympathique et assiette généreuse. L'idéal lors d'une pause repas pendant une séance magasinage.
I first visited this restaurant about ten years ago, and I can assure you that it has nothing more to envy from the past. Apart from its respectable retro 2.0 theme signed by Lemay & Michaud. Beyond the cheerful decor, the Fifties ambiance is obviously reflected in the soundtrack and in the menu, with dishes like the James Dean burger, King's nachos, and a variety of milkshakes "just like in the old days." I ordered the veal sweetbreads as the daily special, preceded by a magnificent carrot and turnip velouté that was anything but bland. A little something smoky, spicy, and delicious enchanted my palate from the very first spoonful. But honestly, it was when the main course arrived that my heart melted. A generous, colorful plate, filled but not overly fussy. A lovely portion of perfectly crispy sweetbreads, coated in flour rather than cornmeal, a wise choice as the flavor of the meat was exquisite. The sweetbreads were placed on a decadent celeriac purée, accompanied by a cauliflower bouquet, green beans, and yellow beets that were as captivating to the eye as they were to the taste buds. I was introduced to the Gabrielle potato, an exquisite variety from the Île d'Orléans that the chef roasted to perfection. To top it all off, a few drizzles of demi-glace-style sauce and sautéed mushrooms. The combination of the velouté and the main course for $19 was surprising given the quality of the ingredients and the sophisticated presentation. My partner greatly enjoyed the delicious and crispy tempura shrimp as an appetizer. However, his favorite was the mega Buffalo Burger made with a very generous piece of homemade fried chicken and a perfectly balanced spicy sauce. A perfect 10/10 for us, and a big thank you to the welcoming and attentive staff. We will definitely be returning soon!
