Skippers - Saint Helens

I was not impressed with this restaurant despite the rave reviews. The prices were outrageous, but I was willing to pay if the portion size and quality were exceptional. Unfortunately, the serving size was laughably small. The seafood platter consisted of small portions of fish, prawns, scallops, and calamari. The fish bites were tiny and the taste and texture were disappointing. The other seafood was just average. The only redeeming dish was the chowder, although the portion was also small for the price. I suggest either lowering the prices or increasing the portion sizes significantly. The only plentiful item on the plate was a large amount of chips. Overall, I was very disappointed with my dining experience.

Some of the best fish and chips Ive ever had. We got the family feast plus extra scallops and pineapple fritters but they just threw in a few more for good measure. Perched right on Marine parade it was a marvelous view but FYI there's no seating inside, it's takeaway only really with limited tables outside. Be careful of the seagulls!

It was all delicious. A very generous serving. Definitely more then I needed so it made two meals.

Make sure you call ahead. Says they are open to on Mondays yet they were very shut when we arrived... very disappointing after a long drive.

The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. We will definitely be coming back.
