Przekaż informację zwrotnąWe were visiting friends in La Creuse, and tokk them out for lunch at this charming and quirky restaurant. We chose from the daily special of four entree, four main courses, and three desserts. Lunch price also included a small plate of cheese, and coffee, so it was a tad under 13 Euros per head for five courses. Bargain! We arrived at 12.15, and the place was already packed! Not everything was still available, as they probably only cook what they expect to serve. Even so, we were all able to choose something we enjoyed, and the food came really quickly, was brilliantly presented, and tasted amazing. The restaurant was completely full by the time we were finished, and two people ONLY managed 40 covers. I have no idea how they did that. This is really the very best of everyday French cuisine. You choose from what they have, it is tasty, well presented, and real value for money. We will DEFINITELY return. For me, the highlight was the selection of 12 old vinyl LPs used as placemats. Really nice touch. Try this place out, but be sure to book for lunch. If we hadn't, we would have missed it!
We actually lunched here two days in a row. The food was different each time and just as good the second time as the first. Excellent quality, service, quantity and price. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
We were visiting friends in Le Souterraine and it was our last day so our friends took us to this wonderful restaurant. Nothing posh but good French food, the menu was quite extensive and the food was lovely. It was quirky which made us smile and talk about it. The staff were very attentive, smiling and explained the menu for us non French speakers. The service was good and quick. The owner Stephane came out to talk to us and asked us how we liked it which made us feel welcome which you don't get too often in restaurants these days. There is off road parking and apparently not that we had one but they welcome dogs as long as they are well behaved. I can highly recommend this restaurant. We were there for Sunday lunch.
Cela ne paye pas de mine de l extérieur mais ce restau mérite d être connu . Cuisine fraîche et de qualité. Service efficace ...
C'est ma seconde visite au Mel Lou. J'étais super content d'y retourner mais:l'accueil est toujours agréable par contre le repas plutôt décevant. Viandes trop cuites et accompagnements (pâtes) restés trop longtemps dans la marmite . Vraiment trop de cuisson et absence de gout. Le dessert plutôt moyen. Dommage mais pour 13 euros c'est tout de même très correct car c'est du fait maison sauf eut-être pas la pâte de la quiche aux asperges qui était bonne tout de même.
