The food was really wonderful; lobster pot stickers with a wonderfully spiced Asian sauce, scallops wrapped in prosciutto, some exquisite Ono and Monkfish, and mashed potatoes with two different sauces, both heavenly. The prices were a bit on the high side, but not extravagantly so, given the food quality. The only thing that marred our evening was that the restaurant was LOUD. It was difficult to converse or even communicate with the waiter.
I've been to this restaurant about three times and am always astounded with the originality of the cuisine and excellent service staff. I've never encountered anything to the contrary and always highly recommend this establishment.
I made a reservation for two a week ahead at Roy's they asked if it was a special occasion. I replied that it was for a birthday. We arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday (yes, it's a busy time) and were seated in a room near the front door with about 10 tables, which is probably used for private parties. It was a claustrophobic, ugly setting for what was supposed to be a special evening. I felt like we were in a corporate meeting room. I will not return, even though the food was quite good. Service bordered on surly.
