The Riva Restaurant - ROTTNEST ISLAND

We went here for dinner on a recommendation, and we have been here several times before but a few years ago. The menu was typical for Perth prices, but all 3 meals were really average. We agreed we could've cooked each meal better at home, which is very disappointing because when you go out for dinner you expect a meal that is much better than your average night at home! Also at roughly $34 per meal, for 3 people, eating out is a special event not a nightly expense. Will not be going back in a hurry. Wish we'd gone to the Hotel instead

....when the place was a reformatory for boys in the 19th century as this was one of - if not the - worst buffet lunches that I have ever had. There was a poor choice of poorly prepared, lukewarm, dried out stuff in trays. The dining room was drab and my wife bagged me the whole time about what a poor dining option, I had made.After lunch we realised that buying a bottle of wine at the general store and then lunching at the nearby bakery would have been a far better option.

We had a wonderful dinner here during our stay at the Karma Rottnest Lodge - just delicious. My partner had pork belly which he was in raptures over - I had squid ink pasta with crab - delicious! and this was preceded by a superb tea duck - and a complimentary amuse bouche. Great service too from the delightful Dawn who took care of us. Highly recommended.

This sensational restaurant suits inside The Rottnest Lodge and on the pool. Delightfully lit at night and wonderful by day for breakfast and lunch I have been there with my Family and Josh Senior. Each time we have had a wonderful experience. The food here is world class and I can recommend the filet steaks.It is a very pleasant place to eat and enjoy the day and comes highly recommended by us. It is open to non Guests. May I suggest that The Rottnest Lodge is a wonderful place to call home whilst on Rottnest. Say hello to The Manager Glenn Triblecock and David.

The al fresco area is nice for dining but we found the food to be a mixture of good and average. The staff were pleasant but they were all young and inexperienced, and it showed. We had a quokka join us for dinner which enhanced the whole experienced. As always in Perth these days, price was also an issue.
