Austies Pub Kitchen - Rosses point

A rainy evening for a quick drink, the pub jolly was the bartender. Cosy inside, large seats outside. Next time will try their kitchen that looked busy.

As we entered the establishment we were met with what I could tell as being somewhat confused and very unsure members of staff on what to do when diners arrive at their door as multiple waitresses pass us at the front door for several minutes without greeting us or wanting to bring us to our table at what was a rather not very busy period at the restaurant. Eventually we were directed to our table that was presented and felt like eating at a kitchen table. Now I understand it is maybe a rustic type of decorative choice but it felt very random and selective as other tables surrounding us were very nicely decorated with much more modern and equipped tables. The menus felt rather cheap as well by just being a piece of paper that was a bit flimsy. I ordered the fish and chips. Which I can compliment the chips on for having a good amount as well as being well cooked and salted and well tasting. A thought the fish was much darker than usual fish as well as being mushy inside rather than fresh fish normally displaying a flakey like appearance when cut into. This led me to believe that the fish was precooked or recooked for the meal which is why it was darker and mushy which for the price of which we paid was very disappointing and overpriced. I don’t believe I will be bringing my business here again

Not much to say about Austies except that it’s a very popular spot with really good food. Staff very friendly and helpful even though the place was very busy. Great place to eat if you’re visiting Rosses Point. See their menu on line.

Exceptional staff, the food was lovely really enjoyed it everyone was so happy no grumpy kids the deserts were amazing the kids said they never had a better brownie they always comparing from other places....but the staff were outstanding the waitress were fantastic the bar staff inside outside, we were 2 couples with our children on a really busy Sunday could not have been looked after any better....specially laura our waitress but everyone was so attentive...will deffo make our way back to Austies on our next camping Trip

This was one of our best dining nights in our trip in Ireland. Staff were very friendly and helpful, a wide menu and great view. Fish and chips was fantastic
