It is on an old historic building with outdoor seating as well. We had the best hamburgers (John Henry?s) and fried pickles. All that was served were generous portions as well . We highly recommend this city , a Rome Braves baseball game as a great outing to anyone with children or grand children. The Grants.
We had the grief artichoke heart app not expecting too much but it came out and was much better than expected. The only thing is hubby would have enjoyed the garlic aoli more if it had been a bit spicy. I ordered the rheuben burger with corn risotto and was more than happy with it. Hubby ordered the blackened grouper tacos and asparagus and was shocked that the asparagus wasn't bitter because they were larger in size. We had been heartbroken when Johnny's closed, but thatchanged after we ate at John Henry's. (Jh's is in the building Johnny's was in) Our waiter, Nate, was exceptional. Very attentive but not overly annoying. We had great conversation with him. (Idk what he makes, but he needs a raise!)Definitely look forward to returning and trying something else. The price was great, ESPECIALLY for how large the servings are.
We had a fabulous brunch here this morning. Walked in around 11:30 and were seated promptly. Our server Nate was very friendly. The sweet potato fries are like a heavenly dessert. I ordered the French toast and while I wish the syrup was not touching my potatoes and bacon, it was all so good. Again, potatoes were amazing. Would absolutely return here if we're ever back in town.
I wish there was another star to give. We went on a Friday night, did not have reservations, and were dressed casually. Although they were busy, we were greeted and seated almost immediately, the server acknowledged us immediately and was back to take our orders within one minute. He was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable, and that was just the beginning. ???? The ambiance is inviting and relatively quiet; perfect for talking with companions (rare these days in mostrestaurants/bars). The menu is creative with a vegetarian option (Portobello Mushroom sandwich or entrée) at both lunch and dinner, the food was prepared and seasoned perfectly, and got to the table very quickly! The Pecan-Crusted Trout,Sautéed Brussel Sprouts, and Yellow Squash that I had was delicious! My companions got the Ribeye Special (w/Baked Sweet Potato and Salad Bar), and the Salad Bar and a side of Brussel Sprouts respectively for our third. The salad bar isextensive and is a meal by itself! And don't get me started about the Ghirardelli Brownie Bread Pudding--OMG. Seriously, it is to die for!! This is definitely, officially on top of our list for Rome, GA!
The food here is AMAZING!! The sweet potato fries have cinnamon sugar on them and the food is worth the price for sure!
