Driftwood - Rogers City

The motel is older, but the rooms are clean and the furniture is updated. Our room had a small balcony overlooking Lake Huron. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were flat and hard. I would suggest bringing your own if possible. Breakfast is included in the price, but it was a disappointment. The breakfast room is small with only 8 chairs at 2 small tables. There is little space between the breakfast bar and the chairs, making it uncomfortable for guests. When we arrived for breakfast, all the tables were full. A customer warned us to be careful with the milk as some cartons were expired. We decided to skip the motel breakfast and went to McDonald's instead. It was a good decision and I would recommend doing the same.

I would rate this restaurant 5 stars for its location and view. It is right by the water, and if we had gotten a second-floor room, I'm sure the view would have been even better. The motel itself is very simple and basic. Supposedly the rooms were recently renovated, but if ours was, I couldn't tell – maybe just some new furniture? Unfortunately, the bathroom was not updated at all. The floor looked dirty and the walls were lacking color. The sliding door needed to be replaced. However, the bed was comfortable. We were disappointed that we couldn't get a room on the second floor as they claimed to be fully booked, but the parking lot was only half full in the morning. Maybe only the upper rooms were not renovated. On the bright side, there is a beautiful walk right to the water. If location is your main priority, this place is great. But if you expect more than just the basics, you may want to look elsewhere.

Nice rooms. Attended at the office was great, very friendly. Enjoyed our stay overlooking frozen Lake Huron.

Stayed for two nights. The room itself isn’t anything to write home about, but I’d stay again just for the view of Lake Huron. We had to do a lot of fussing with the TV to get a signal, but eventually we got it working. The bed is pretty comfortable. The room was clean and the staff was friendly!

Comfy bed and improvements are ongoing. A little older but clean.
