Mamma Lucia - Rockville

My family came out to mama Lucia’s in shady grove after being apart for some time. Our waitress Michelle is truly worth her weight in gold. She went above and beyond to make the experience the most enjoyable for all of us (even with a medical emergency in the kitchen) We will be returning not just for the great food but also specifically to dine with Michelle again. Taylor and family.

The Bolognese with pasta and a little spicy is delicious. But do not waste your $24 on the Shrimp Scampi. It has no flavor and comes with 4 small shrimp. It was so disappointing!

The food wasn’t very special. The service was decent but the different entrees were not flavorful including the pastas and salads. The accompanying bread was just toasted white bread and could not taste anything else. The atmosphere was just ok. We have had better Italian before and will not recommend.

A rare actual NY style pizza! Another minute in the oven to take it to true NY quality, but a very solid pie! Edit after trying the da Bruno pie. Advertised as extra thin and crispy, I ordered it well done, and it came out more pale than the regular pies coming out! Not very crispy, dense, and the sauce was really oregano heavy this time.

I placed an online order for my mother. She is visiting from out of town and wanted chicken parm. I placed my order around 11:30am and arrived at the restaurant when the order said it was going to be ready, at 12pm. The girl behind the counter told me it wasn't ready yet and to take a seat. I sat at the front right in front of the front desk guy for ~40 minutes. I made eye contact numerous times with that guy, the woman that told me to wait, and other people behind the counter. I know how hard service people work so I wasn't about to rush them. Finally, I had enough and went up to the counter and the food HAD BEEN ready. I sort of defeatedly told then I had been waiting and they claimed they didn't know...despite looking right at me many times. I watched numerous other people place orders for things like pizza and meals and get them right away. They mixed up two customers pizza orders as well. The customer service here is terrible. I highly suggest you avoid going here if you have any level of social anxiety and don't feel like confronting very rude young girls. Not to mention- one order of chicken parm was over 30 dollars!
