Jolly Swagman Cafe - ROCHEDALE

Bought a mince pie and was going alright until i had a huge dry meatball in my pie. Needless to say i won't be back

Have been going there for 3 years. Always a good feed and friendly staff. The menu has a good selection and has indoor and outdoor seating .

We have visited Jolly Swagman many times over many years and had lunch there again today (Wednesday). There is a large, carpeted, air-conditioned dining room with quality furnishings, plus outdoor dining on the verandah. Table water and glasses are also in the dining room. There is a great range of sweet and savoury pies, plus salad rolls, cakes, pastries, coffee, tea, milkshakes, juices, etc. We always buy a Cajun Chicken pie. They are awesome! The shop is always clean and well stocked with lots of goodies. The only complaint we would have is that the young staff members behind the counter are not very good at smiling and welcoming and greeting customers. Management should give their staff a quick lesson in common courtesy, but apart from that, this is a great place for a quick meal or coffee and cake. Always look forward to visiting Jolly Swagman.

I am sad to say that I can't recommend this restaurantAt least not to people who doesn't speak french (or italian) fluently).

The pie was decent with visible chunks of meat inside, but it didn't quite live up to my childhood memories. I'm not sure if I just didn't pick the right pie, or if I'm on a futile quest for perfection. Regardless, I'm looking forward to trying more pies and have even planned a pie crawl with a fellow pie lover to visit other recommended pie vendors. I pass by The Jolly Swagman often, so I'll definitely be back to try other menu items, whether pies or something else. The staff is friendly, although I did get questioned for taking photos in the cafe.
