This place will get many return journeys from us! Bonus: You have an aromatized butter bar! Twenty plus guys to choose!
We went for the first time today, and it's a pretty cool little place. Eclectic, colorful decorations. You order at the counter then pick a seat. They have tables, booths, high top tables along the windows, and a patio. I don't know why people are complaining about the prices. Everything is under $10 (see photos of menu). You don't get sides, but with their portions you don't need one (4 dia. biscuits). If you do get a side, split it with the table. They have a couple local drafts on tap (Thur. half price pints) plus **** marys (using Zing Zang as everyone should) and mimosas. They also have a nitro cold brew coffee which I definitely recommend trying. To go along with your order, they have a house-made jam and butter bar plus a bunch of different hot sauces. I got The Boss. I wouldn't say outstanding (4 stars not 5) but it's good. Wife got the Endless Love. Wasn't 100% sold on the potato cake, but they have some good fried chicken. Kids got biscuits and loved them. Staff was also friendly and helpful. Don't trust the 1 star reviews. It certainly deserves a try. We'll definitely be back.
One of the best new restaurants to hit Roanoke in a long time! Both dishes we tried were absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. The biscuits were cooked to a nice boil with a light crisp, and the chicken was incredibly juicy. The homemade jam and butter bar was a lovely addition, especially since the cookies are massive—an excellent way to round off the meal. I can't wait to return!
I walked by this restaurant several times before finally deciding to give it a try, unsure of the variety or atmosphere. However, after experiencing their brunch, I was impressed. I've been to some fantastic brunch spots in various cities, and this one might just be my favorite. The menu can be a little confusing, with different options available at different times, but the food more than made up for it. I had the Southern Man, which was a delicious Southern Benedict served on a biscuit. My son ordered the Carolina Shake, featuring flavorful pulled pork and pimento cheese biscuits. Everything was fresh and incredibly tasty. I highly recommend giving it a try!
Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Although the service was a bit slow and it took a while for our food to arrive, everything was fresh and delicious. It's a nice spot for brunch!
