Trattoria La Bocca - Ridgewood

The service was very disappointing. While we were not overcrowded despite Valentine's Day, our waiter was inconspicuous and brought us a wrong start and then a false escape on our table. we were never asked how our food was, but overall everything was very average. in view of the many restaurants in ridgewood we will not come back.

The food was excellent and the whole experience was lovely. Our waiter Ray was working so hard, as was the other server in the room; they really need more waiters since it took a long time for each course.

We returned to Bocca for the third time in as many months after two great meals. This last visit was disappointing. New kitchen team or off night? The shrimp appetizer on the menu was very tasty after despite being hidden under blanket of mozzarella ..we asked for more bread to sop Up the sauce. However a chicken and a seafood entrees did not fare as well. We left more than half on our plates because it Just didn’t taste very good. I hope they find their mojo as it is a nice addition to the neighborhood

Been living in Ridgewood for 20 years and this is the first time we've gone to this restaurant. Huh? What a surprise! Everything was great. The food is terrific. Service is great. It's BYOB so you save some bucks on the markup (which is a plus) We were running late so didnt have dessert, but will next time! We'll be going back soon.

Fish tasted funny and did not seem fresh. It was a special and not prepared the way it was stated.
