Sweet potato casserole was very delicious cheese potatoes were also delicious. Sandwiches were good taste was excellent smoked taste, brisket and some nice bark spots on it, pulled pork was nice, sauces were very good. Only bad was the meat-bread ratio seemed improperly balanced. Otherwise we traveled over an hour to get there, we would return again....especially to try the ribs next time.
Coming to visit a town we were fortunate to find this Barbeque restaurant opened by former firefighters. The history and unique ambience was spectacular. The opportunity to listen to live bands in the outdoor eating area during the summer is enjoyable. Our waitress Trish was friendly and responsive. I wanted a microbrew IPA beer but I was not sure which one I wanted, so Trish brought me three samples. Wow. Then I wanted an appetizer but I told our waitress Trish that I didn't want fried jalepino peppers. The waitress told me they backed. The poppers were just spicy enough but not too much. Then we had the pulled pork which was tender and moist and the Brunswick Stew which had sausage, pork, chicken and ham. Amazing. I then wanted a stout beer and once again our waitress surprised us with three samples. Truly amazing service. The decorations, music history of the area and tribute to the firefighters in a preserved firehouse was truly unique. If you are looking for a unique BBQ restaurant with superior service, delicious food and reasonably prices, this is the place you can't miss.
4 &1/2 stars. BBQ tasted great with 3 different levels of sauce. Sides were good, beer was cold! Recommended!
Good food, decent prices, great service and atmosphere. What more could a person want? I highly recommend it!
Loved the atmosphere! Pulled pork sandwich topped with Mac and cheese was delicious and the scalloped cabbage. Will be back in the future to try the ribs!
