Egyptian-style falafels are the specialty of Half Moon Café. The falafels are hand- made in front of you, from a wide range of delicious ingredients. Half Moon Café serves Halal food. The café has a wide range of soft drinks. By the way, Half Moon Café has been in business for almost 20 years, it must be doing something right.
Its very good food best falafel and mixed sandwiches in Melbourne, will always go back again .... :
We love falafels and seek out the best available ones in Melbourne. We had our most memorable falafels at the famous ‘L'as du Fallafel’ in the Marais district, Paris nearly 10 years ago! Last month we heard from a food website that the falafels at Half Moon Café in Coburg are worth trying. Though this café is not quite local – some 9km from where we live – we decided to go there and try it out. We were not disappointed and totally enjoyed the falafel dish we ordered Colibaba: with fried cauliflower and eggplant plus babaghanoush and yogurt dips. The falafels were the best we have had in Melbourne (and we have had them in a number of places). Half Moon’s falafels were ‘just right’ – crisp on the outside and soft inside, not overly salty, and the dips were freshly made. Next time we will try them with other condiments – like pickles, and haloumi cheese. From now on, we will head to Half Moon Cafe whenever we want to have falafels. Half Moon's falafels are the gold standard in Melbourne. We can't wait to have another falafel lunch there. If only we had known about this café earlier.
A friendly man and a falafel freshly made with interesting pickles and quality ingredients. I have seen things made to a formula elsewhere, but here the falafel are unique.
