I came across this charming cafe tucked away in one of the laneways off Sydney Road and I was pleasantly surprised. It was buzzing with customers, and for good reason. The food was fantastic - the gozleme was absolutely delicious, and the Turkish breakfast was even better. The tea was robust, the staff were welcoming, and overall, I had a great experience. I will definitely be returning!
This charming restaurant is located in a picturesque alleyway. They serve delicious homemade Turkish dishes such as gozleme, warm chicken salad, pasta, and lamb. The owners are extremely friendly and generous.
Ordered the big breakfast for 2 the sucuk with eggs all the food was great I enjoyed it. But the Gozleme could of came with a slice of lemon a carrot dip which I asked for they gladly gave me them at no cost which was good of them. <br/ <br/ The disappointment of this place was that there was no table service despite having table menus. The Asian girl server wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu didn’t understand English properly.
A keeper! We came a few months back when it was part of a group activity, and were determined to come back because it was so good. This visit was even better. <br/ <br/ Had the vegetarian meals (felafels, salad, pita bread, hommus and yogurt dip , with Turkish coffee, Turkish tea and two Turkish birds nest pastries. Swiftly served, big smiles, generous serving sizes, ultra fresh, full of flavour and texture. <br/ <br/ The felafels were freshly fried so a burnished dark brown crisp crunchy on the outside and moist and hot on the inside. Beautifully harmoniously flavoured and an interesting change from the usual recipe. I so love felafels when fresh. Salad with a mix of perfectly fresh tender glossy leaves, olives and pickled cucumber delicious. Hommus smooth and nutty went beautifully with the pliable pita bread and dabbing my felafel salad pita concoction in it. Tea with a bit of sugar had that elusive well brewed mellow flavour (elusive for me at least . Birds nest pastries were intensely sweet and perfumed , with a clean finish that made them not at all cloying. Coffee came with a little square of Turkish delight too. <br/ <br/ As I said a keeper ! If only this was closer to home for us :
