The food had the potential to be amazing, but it was ruined by an excessive amount of salt that overwhelmed our dishes. We decided to give it another chance and requested no salt, but unfortunately, my burger was still overly salty. It was a letdown.
Came here for dinner with the family. The fish is fresh and cooked to perfection be it fried or grilled. The salad is lovely too. Love the ambiance of the place. Sort of like a Greek tavern. Hospitality was ok which they could improve, isn’t...as friendly though the place was not as busy. The ones taking the order always seems to be rushing. Would come back again never the less. Prices are above your usual fish and chips shops. 7/10.
This restaurant used to be small and operated by a lovely older couple who were very welcoming. However, the new, larger establishment managed by the younger generation of the family has declined in quality. In particular, the daughter is rude and arrogant towards customers. I hope they can bring back the kind and friendly service that the old couple provided.
Recently, I visited the new location to discuss making a reservation for a meal with some family members from Perth who are seafood enthusiasts. However, my experience at the counter was less than satisfactory. When I approached the counter at 11:30 a.m., I was met by a woman who seemed more interested in shredding papers than assisting me. After waiting for over a minute, she finally acknowledged my presence with a less-than-friendly attitude. When I inquired about making a reservation for four people either for lunch or dinner, she curtly replied that they do not accept bookings and I would have to simply show up. I was taken aback by her dismissive behavior, as the only other establishments I can think of that operate with this policy are fast food chains like McDonald's, Hungry Jacks, and KFC. Regardless of how delicious the food may be, I am not comfortable with the uncertainty of being able to secure a table upon arrival. As a result, I am now exploring other options for my annual Christmas meal. To the owner, Nick, or his son, if you happen to read this, I urge you to reconsider the direction in which your business is heading. Melbourne boasts a multitude of top-notch restaurants, and while your establishment may be thriving now, customer care should always remain a priority. Remember, there was a time when you valued your patrons more than it appears you do now.
My daughter recommended this place. The best fish and chip restaurant I've ever been. Portion sizes are amazing. Selection and price are fantastic. Out of the way, but worth the ride. You are also LICENCED, which is a bonus as you can... have a cold beer with your meal. It is not a first class restaurant, it has laminate tables etc., but the staff are friendly and the food is very fresh. Worth a visit.
