Finding a unique distillery in the current era of microbrew is rare, and Ferino is exactly that. With a mix of old world flavor profiles and techniques they are able to craft amazing liquors that make exceptional cocktails and aperitifs.Definitely worth a stop in and, if you have the time, a tour tasting.
Having been into rum for a long time, but only just getting started into cordials and amaros, this seemed like a great spot to hit while we were in Reno. We had a private experience by the owner, Joe, who took us on a tour of their productions and helped us down a discovery of our palate. Suffice it to say, we left with several bottles (and would have bought more, had we not been flying out the next day). And we will certainly be back on our next Reno trip.
Ferino’s is our favorite spot in Reno! They make a wonderful set of liquors and tasty cocktails. Probably the most known for the cinnamon and coffee liquor, but the amaro and fernet are gems as well. Joe and Taylor are always friendly and incredibly hospitable. It’s always a great time getting to sit at the bar, talk with them, and learn more about the wonderful world of bitter liquors! And you have to do a tour! You just got to. It’s a great deal, and it’s a blast getting to hear the history of the distillery and learn about their process.I can’t recommend Ferino’s enough!
I took one of his private tours and he was really generous and accommodating, and you can tell that he's passionate and thoroughly informed about his craft. Moreover, I'm not really a discerning drinker of alcohol or anything fancy, but the drinks he mixed for us were among the best I've had, and I got a sense for why people see cocktails as a sort of art.
