It is fine dinning at it's best, perfect balance of flavors and service. Everything was perfect and the front of house staff were very friendly. Congratulations to the Chef and staff! They are doing an amazing job. Will go over and over again.
This restaurant is not prepared for a large party. Our wait was unacceptable and the food was not worth the time or money. From the last of our party of 15 arriving at 7.15pm we didn't get our entrees until 8.30pm, mains at 9.45pm, and dessert at 10.30pm. I'm also incredibly disappointed at witnessing my dessert at another table an hour earlier at least 2-3 times the size of what I received later in the night. The size of the portions spaced so far apart meant I left still feeling hungry, not what I would expect from a $75 meal. A complimentary two bowls of chips (between 15 people) is not enough to make up for the poor experience, and while I appreciate the sincere apologies from front of house (who seemed just as frustrated as I was), I will not bother returning here.
Excellent! Food was great, service was perfect, prices where very fair. Entrées were diverse & delicious, mains were generous, desserts were to-die-for... This'll be our new local favourite
It is a warm, inviting place, almost like home. The service is friendly but can be a bit haphazard with the waitresses at a loss as to what they are doing or which tables they are responsible for. Food is wholesome & generous but some lack balance & finess. It is a nice place for an enjoyable, cosy & comforting meal.
Firstly to all the fans and fellow reviewers if this is a modern Australian restaurant then I am from Mars. I went to this place expecting modern Australian cuisine and the persisting flavor was French (aside from Pavlova on dessert menu) which was confusing throughout my entrée and main until I gathered enough evidence and nerve to ask the maître d about the cuisine. Color me not astonished it is a French restaurant. And if anyone has any doubt because of the small fresh spring roll that come with the pork belly I challenge you to go to France and see how many restaurants serve spring rolls. It is even argued by some French chefs that the origins of the spring roll is German or French and was introduced to Asia in the late 1600s Well now that we know it’s a French restaurant, French chef we can accurately gage the food. My hubby’s pork belly was very nice beautifully caramelized with hint of sourness and tanginess that made it delightful. His lamb main was perfectly cooked little tough as you’d expect from pan fried lamb strap, well executed but little bit of a safe dish bit too traditional without real explosion of flavor, still nice food, he enjoyed it. My entrée was scampi with buttery crisp which was beautiful but very rich dish, heavy on butter as you’d expect from French cuisine. One thing also it came with prosciutto which wasn't mentioned on menu. My main was Scallop gnocchi, it was good but the taste was very similar to my entrée. The both dish’s main flavor was essentially same except using the different seafood. Upon finishing meal, I can’t say I love the after taste of the foods, perhaps I needed little dessert to wash down the heavy butter taste but was too full to eat any more. Service was attentive, good French restaurant; I would come back when in the mood for French food. goodtasteguide.blogspot.com
