The sign on the door says they're only open Thursday and Friday (it's Thursday) but the lights were off and no one inside and Google hasn't been updated. Luckily got my money back through Eatstreet customer service. No website up anymore and phone number is no longer in service. If you're not open anymore, please share it with the rest of us.
Drove there long distance for my desired pasteles and alcapuras. They didn’t have any. Asked for a chicken soup instead, they didn’t have any! I was so disappointed ! Very few items on the menu. Had no choice so I ordered a Cuban Sandwich- that was good but very little meat and no substitute. I wanted yucca fries instead but no substitute. Wasted my gas!!owner made excuses but poor customer service.
This was some of the worst Latin food I have had in Raleigh. I ordered the empanada platter, which is 2 empanadas and 2 sides. I chose the beef empanadas, fried yuca and salad. The empanadas were huge and mostly empty. They look big, but they are full of hot air. The taste of the meat wasn 't bad, but i there was barely anything there. Even the salad was one big lump of dried-up lettuce with 2 tomatoes and 2 slices of onions and zero dressing. The fried yuca was the most disappointing part. They were fried in oil that was already overused because there was no resemblance to yuca; they looked, and tasted like fried batter and literally crumpled in my fingers. When I mentioned it to the counter girl, she said, I 'm sorry, I guess that 's why they are cleaning the fryers right now. I am never ever going here again, and I am sure they will be fine without me, but do yourself a favor. If you are a real critic of Latin food and have good examples to compare against, don 't go here either. I am saving you the cash and disappointment. It 's been hard finding latin restaurants here that have that authentic taste like the ones in NY or NJ. I have tried Red Monkey (fake Colombian food), Tropical Chicken in Wake Forest before it closed (5 out of 10 rating), Hartura in Wake Forest (The Mangu does not have the Dominican taste), and Alpaca (Cant make Lomo or Tallarines to save their lives).
Food delicious. Staff was overwhelmed but maintained their professionalism. Very busy Sundays.Get the tacos meal. Very good. My grandchild loved it.
This place is right next to the gym and I thought it would be a great place to have an after workout dinner. Now I'm going to want to stop by every time I go to the gym! I always get water and they had tropical juices, so I tried the passion fruit juice. I had never had Mofongo, so I got the sampler and it was amazing! The garlic sauce is just delicious and pairs really well with the plantain. Everything was seasoned to perfection. The chicken was my favorite. The steak was thin and cooked well done. I'm not sure if there are any other options for the steak. The pork was good, but not my favorite. The peppers really tied it all together. I can't speak on how close it is to traditional Mofongo, but I can say it was delicious and I will be sure to get it again!
