Don’t pay attention to those who exaggerate their experiences here. This isn’t some high-end restaurant, it’s a casual place, and we should appreciate it for what it is, rather than act like we’re in an upscale NYC eatery.
I visited a Subway located on the opposite side of downtown Raleigh, on Fayetteville Street. Upon entering, the staff informed me that I could only choose a specific sub selection if I purchased a voucher for "any footlong and the second free." I had just come from another Subway on Fayetteville Street, and while the employee processed my order, I didn’t appreciate her demeanor. I had previously experienced a similar issue at a different location, but one of her coworkers—a shorter lady—was much more helpful. Ultimately, her excellent service is the reason I gave this Subway a rating of 5 stars. I probably won't return to the other Subway on Fayetteville Street, which is located across from Benny's Pizza.
The service was rude, and the bathroom was in disrepair. They don't accept any promotions, and the overall management seems to be poorly run. They really need to improve.
The cash register must learn how to use the scanner for payments and credit card codes. I had no money on me and she didn't know how to do everything on the register so I can pay by scanning my phone. not to mention did not want to scan and/or honor my 15% discount credit. it only leads me to believe that the franchises feel like their loss something by giving a discount, but clearly they lose more. they lose me as a customer. then she calculated me $19.90 for 2 cold cut combos with speck. this place must make their own prices because I usually pay about $17 for it. I don't care if it's just a few dollars. it's my money. I'm not back.
The tomatoes in the tray that is there for all to see had mold on them. I pointed it out to the one guy that was working there, he went to the back, got another tray of tomatoes and opened it up in front of me. They ALSO had mold on them. If you don't have the sense enough to 1) check to make sure the product you are displaying and selling to customers is presentable and edible and 2) check the backup product prior to presenting it to the customer that pointed out how your other product wasn't acceptable, then I just cannot trust you to prepare my food. I will not be going back, and that is a shame.
