Estrel's Caramel Cakes - Quezon City

Ordered via delivery and the cake was ruined, we had to fix it. It was quite delicious though and very creamy. I like the soft sponge cake. Worth the price!

Overrated ... very rude staff... in times like this you should be nice to people esp the ones who keeps your business afloat when many others closing ... change you staff esp the ones who answers your phone

The caramel cakes never fails us everytime we order! It’s light and not too sweet. Just the right amount of sweetness!! Been ordering from here eversince

I do not understand the hylpe about this place. The cake designs are boring and stuck in the 1980s The chiffon dry with a flat flavor profile. Do I taste McCormick Vanilla extract? The 'filling if you could call it that was nothing. More than a sugar coat to keep the cake from crumbling. I would suggest to add Port reduction. Then actually filling with a thicker butter cream/mousse with honey crumb pieces folded in. The glace average and flat. Needs either some hint of saltiness or liqeur for extra oomph then top a thin bitter sweet caramel layer for added texture. All the rose butter cream tastes like a mix of shortening abd margarine with a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. Also leaves a filmy residue on the tongue. Use real butter, caramelize the sugar first, before finely grinding and mixing with real butter. Experiment with othrr fravors and updaye the design. Servicd terrible Price overpriced Tastes cheap.

The customer service at this restaurant is unfortunately managed by rude security guards who treat patrons as if they are beneath them. While I've encountered many polite and respectful security personnel in Manila, none were present at Estrel's. The person who developed their customer service strategy clearly needs to reconsider the choice of untrained security guards as the first point of contact for customers. I had hoped that the food would compensate for the poor service, especially given the enticing backstory of a family recipe from the post-war era. Sadly, that was not the case. I genuinely wanted the cake to be remarkable enough to make me overlook the inadequate customer service, but it turned out to be quite forgettable. Overall, I find it to be highly overrated.
