I had a glass of le petits cailloux of quebec, and the evening table D’Hote, the suppe of the day, green salad with walnuts, entrecote saint jean steak and matchstick french fries boiled in peanut oil, profiteroles with chocolate, and coffee tee. the wee was frustrated with a sweet and not too dry. the mushroom soup of the day was rich in mushroom aroma, had quite a lot of mushroom there, something too salty and was overall comfort. the salad was fresh with delicious wrinkles and the sose compliments the sweet, as the sweet was a little tasteless. the steak was a decent cut, which was cooked with a beautiful BBQ chest on the outside on medium rareness without having a strong taste, but it was okay how the butter sauce formed for it. the chocolate profiteroles and tee were very good and were a beautiful finish for the meal.
Unforgettable steak, eating and ambiente was great and our waiter, who was one of the best servers we met during our stay in the city quebec. if they are in steaks, this place should not be missed together with there special sauce.
We visit us from toronto, and tonight was our last night in the beautiful city quebec. we tried various restaurants and all were great. tonight was our culinary experience on another level. we have booked at l’entrecote saint jean. the French nostalgia songs played when we came in. the friendly staff, the ambiente so warm and welcoming. eating came, our steaks cooked to perfection. the service was just great. our host was incredible! it was the 'cream de la creme' of all places we went to. I'll think next time in quebec city. to far the best we had!
- aazing! a must restart when traveling in old quebec! we had their speciality, steak and fries with their secret sauce, and it is not disappointed! we look forward to another time before our trip is over!
Great place in the heart of Old Port Quebec that has good food at fair prices. I thought I'd try something new, so I ordered the duck confit and it was awesome! Duck has its own unique flavour, which is a nice change from chicken. The meat was falling off the bone and there was no need for a knife. Now, since I've never had duck confit before, I don't know how authentic it is but I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much that I don't think they needed to wash my plate afterwards. If I'm ever in Quebec again I'll be visiting this place for the duck.
