Luckily Le Repaire was right there tucked under the hill appearing to be built directly into the hill itself. As spectacular as the architecture was the food was equally spectacular. We had drinks, appetizers and dessert while waiting for the rain to pass and the wine service was a bit slow but only because they had a hard time finding the local cider we requested. Either way it was worth the wait.
Our family of four had lunch at Le Repaire, and we all thought the food was good. However, as the one paying for the meal, I also thought the restaurant was a bit pricey. Regardless, the service was OK, and we had nice outdoor seating.
Friendly waitress and good service. Pet friendly place on patio. Ordered the Foie Gras. Presentation is nice but the foie gras taste is not there. It tasted water down. Ordered the Deer medallion. The meat is cooked perfectly and just melts in your mouth unfortunately it tasted bland. The vegetable is a little bit over cooked and the puree is also bland. I also tasted the wife's lamb shank. The shank is tender other than that it's average. Overall, The location is excellent, great view, good service and food presentation but lacking in flavor.
A great place to sit enjoy a drink or have a meal during your busy day of sight seeing and shopping. We sat inside as the patio was completely booked. My only complaint is that the restaurant was too dark inside...difficult to read the menu.
Excellent spot to people watch at the top of the break neck stairs with outdoor seating. Inside it feels like a stone cellar, very cool. The food was fair.
