Came here after reading a review on Foodiequebec website. it was rated #1 poutine in quebec city. I ordered the onion bacon version. I asked and the engraving is the same as the classic option so that everything is the same as the 2 extra toppings....Result is tragic: Fries over boiled (3/10) engraving tasted like cans or powder mix (2/10) curds not squeaky at all (2/10) crispy onions were undercooked and a soggy sloppy mess down (1/10 bill) only gave it a great deal clear extra special treatment for a non-French speaking customer.... Judgment: worst poutins I had in months, and dishonest service.
Fortunately, we decided to try this restaurant. Our server was very friendly, helpful and spoke perfectly English. She recommended a dish called “Poutine” we chose the Mexican version, we loved it. This court must come to the states!
I love this place! It was a big walk from the old town through artsy neighborhood. The food was very cheap and there were a little outdoor seating. We had the pulled pork poutin and the lamb poutin. Both were fantastic!
This was a great quick lunch. We’re not poutine experts, but to us, the regular poutine was very tasty. Chicken sandwich was also good. With 2 of us, we spit the chicken sandwich (with fries) and a large poutine. Way too much food and we’re...generally big eaters. Friendly waitress. I think it was her first day, otherwise we would have expected her to tell us to consider the small poutine. Definitely worth a visit if you like poutine.
