The “cheeze” on vegan poutine was quite crumbly but very very tasty together with the gravy. I had the green salad with side breaded mushrooms (which tasted like fresh donuts to be honest) it was great!
Le veganator was very good! Fries was nice too and there are two vgnaise (Spicy and chermoula) .
Be VERY careful if you're a vegan planning on going to Victor. There are A LOT of hidden non-vegan foods so insist on making sure everything is in fact vegan with the waiter. I go there often and just learned that ALL their salad dressings have eggs in them (wait... what!? despite the fact that I tell them I'm vegan everytime I go there. There are very limited vegan options (an indian burger, apparently the tofu burger is vegan, salads if you ask for oil and vinegar dressing only . I'm not sure I trust them too much. I'm lactose intolerent as well and I had issues with them a few times about that too.
It's nice to have not only one choice but six on the menu for veggie burgers. I had the tofu and mushroom burger with fries and rosemary mayo. I quite enjoyed the combination of tastes and the hand cut fries were not greasy at all. Crisp and hot as they all should be. Excellent friendly and attentive service with the right amount of visits. All in all, a very nice surprise as I typically don't eat burgers and fries. Very nutritious and good quality ingredients. Chez Victor also offers a great selection of beer and wine, including micro-brewed selections on tap.
Highly recommended if you have to cater for an omnivorous willing to eat dead corpses. They seem to serve high quality meat in addition with vegetarian hamburgers and (original salads. I went there twice in a week and was very happy to both times. Had a very tasty and uncommon vegan salad the first time and a delicious spinach/brazil nuts burger the second time. Warm welcome and agreeable place to eat. There is another restaurant with exactly the same menu just near the Marché du Vieux Port.
