The hot chocolate was excellent, and the coffee served for dining in was significantly better than the coffee for takeaway—I'm not quite sure why that is. We also grabbed some soft drinks from France, which the kids really enjoyed.
Overall, it was a pretty good experience. While it's slightly more expensive than pastry shops in Montreal, the competition is not as fierce in this area. The flavors are enjoyable, and the food feels wholesome. It can get quite crowded, as this is the only pastry shop of its kind on the street. As for vegetarian options, they do offer both vegan and vegetarian choices.
This restaurant does a poor job of clearly communicating prices to its customers, which is essential for good customer service. It would be better to list one clear average price instead of having two hidden prices. Additionally, the prices here are high compared to the quality of the food. I recommend trying Morena across the street instead; it's a better value and definitely worth it!
I was in search of a slice of cake today, and initially, the service was good; the staff member answered my questions and showed me a catalog. I selected a cake based on the images provided. Unfortunately, the cake I received did not match the design I had chosen. I politely requested a different one, but the staff member seemed annoyed and insisted it was the same design. In situations like this, I'm not sure how to respond! So, I kindly asked for another option, purchased it, and left. She didn’t say a word to me! Such a shame!
I had a delightful afternoon enjoying coffee and a scone here. It was tough to pick just one treat, as they all looked absolutely delightful.
