My only complaint was the tables had bird poop all over them. Too bad no one thought about pressure washing them. Five dollar per person. Food--you buy one dollar tickets. A meal--not only including drink was 18 dollars.
I've been coming to Oktoberfest since I've moved down for the past 12 years. I was like everyone here anxiously awaiting 2022 Oktoberfest to bring my boyfriend to it for his first time unfortunately...Ian happened. But I'm so glad this past weekend they brought us Biergarten fest! We went with our friends and we had a great time! The German American society I think was overwhelmed with the huge turn out! But we love to support our local community and yea waiting in longer lines for food is totally worth it! For the potato pancakes and we had schnitzel sandwiches! They had the other imported beers are are usually in the brick and mortar building at some of the beer huts! Loved it! We all had a great time drinking the German beers and trying new ones! )well I've had them all) but for my boyfriend who's a Miller lite fan was indulging in Allgäuer!
So much fun today at Octoberfest. While the potato pancakes with applesauce were still there I did miss the dance groups. We were there from 2:00-6:00pm and missed the acts we saw last year. May go back next weekend and arrive later so we can stay later.
Went for their October Fest in April. Everyone friendly and welcoming. Some older people in booths seemed confused. Hate their ticket set up. Confusing as how many to buy to make food purchases. Very strange as you find the booth with the food, go back and buy the tickets, then go back to buy the food. A lot of wasted time. Been there in past and they always have the same weird set up. Do love the Nostalgia of an Octoberfest.
Update on the current 2021 Oktoberfest. We missed last year but the party is up and running for 2021. We are fortunate to live in Cape Coral and we often visit Oktoberfest two or three times. We love the potato pancakes mit applesauce. Always our first stop. This year I opted for a wheat beer. The venue did not have the lovely beer mugs of past seasons, instead you could purchase a cup or pitcher of beer. There was no schweinshaxen this year but the previous few years have offered a less than optimal version of this dish. I 'd rather bypass this dish if it can 't be prepared appropriately. To pick up the slack there was a great barbecue food truck offering yummy victuals. Otherwise, sans schweinshaxen, the 'fest is the same. A great time to be had by all, especially after missing last year due to Covid. The Bienenstich was Devine. I could eat a table full of it.
