The Burger Joint Vallarta

The menu claims that the beef burger is a home made patty, so I ordered one of these and a shrimp burger, as well as an order of french fries, planning to share all three items with my girlfriend. The food arrived promptly, and was well-presented. The buns were nicely toasted, the toppings looked fresh, and the fries were crispy and cooked-to-order, but did not taste like they were cut in-house. If I had to guess, I would say they were frozen. The shrimp were small, flavorless, unclean (with the black line of feces running down the back of the shrimp), and if I had to guess, they were previously frozen. The beef house made patty had the shape, texture (think McDonalds cancer nuggets, with strange looking bubbly pockets, processed texture, etc) and complete lack of flavor that one would expect from a frozen patty. I asked the cashier/waitress what exactly they meant by home made patty, and she informed me that this was her second shift at The Burger Joint, and while she personally knows what a home made patty is, she would ask the chef what he meant by home made. She returned moments later to relay the chef 's message, that being, he made the patty himself, by hand, with fresh beef and his own seasonings. I suppose I could be mistaken here, but the patty was perfectly round, even thickness throughout, utterly flavorless and void of seasoning, and had that strange look to the searing that comes from frozen patties which have been injected with a saline-solution and who-knows-what else, and then cooked on a flat-grill. There was absolutely no evidence of the patty being home made, or hand made. Maybe the chef 's aim is to hand-make a patty that looks and tastes exactly like a frozen pre-made burger, from what was certainly low-quality beef, and if so, he has succeeded thoroughly in doing so. On the other hand, maybe they just served a frozen patty while claiming it to be home made, and then lied about it when confronted on it. This place will suit your needs if you are looking for a quick bite, and are accustomed to eating poor quality, almost certainly frozen, flavorless, low-quality food. Otherwise, go elsewhere. You won 't save any money either, at 70 pesos/burger and 40 pesos/order of fries. I would not recommend this place to an enemy, and will personally never return. I will be sure to share my experiences with my local friends and tourists alike, when given the opportunity, and will be waiting anxiously for this business to fail, as I don 't want businesses that feel comfortable deceiving and lying directly to the community to have any chance at thriving.

Our kids ate here twice, with just a bite for us. Excellent burger special including fries and soda for 90 pesos or a foot long hot dog, fries and soda for 60 pesos. Great service too! If I was craving a burger in PV, this would definitely be a top choice!

I almost made the mistake of eating the the BBQ place next to it, but was convinced by the waitress to try a burger instead, and I am so glad I did! I had the shrimp burger grilled shrimp, grilled onions, pickles, lettuce, tomoto, and an awesome dressing! , and a liter of corona for around 100 pesos $10 USD . I made sure to have this meal again before I left, so do yourself a favor eat here. The menu is fresh the staff is friendly. I would recommend to anyone.

This place is awesome! We stumbled upon it looking for a place to have a hamburger and i have to say, it was a great burger! It cost about 70 pesos, $7, US) and I couldnt have asked for a better burger. It was large and had a bunch of different things you could add, cheese, lettuce, tomatoe, jalapeno not for me thanks) and more. Two of us split it and it was more than enough. We also split an order of fries and it was a huge order. We couldnt even finish them. This is located on a side street right off the Malecon but I cant remember which street. They only have like 4 tables outside that are shared with the BBQ place. It's right next to a BBQ place which is probably the sign you will see. Actually, the fries came from that place so not sure if they own both. If you are looking for a good burger, this is the place to go! 2 thumbs up!
